Pretentious

“Video cannot lie but it can be an accessory to a crime.”
As the saying goes.

Raymart Santiago, husband of Claudine Barretto has a fist fight with journalist Mon Tulfo.

Raymart Santiago, a former action star and Mon Tulfo who is a broadcast–journalist whose tongue is as acid as Simon Cowell. Both in one location and in a not so ambient situation so what do you expect, a definite fist fight.

I saw the video at youtube.

Conclusion:

Mr. and Mrs. Santiago are professional liars.

Ang gagaling mag–drama! Artista talaga! Eh papaano na lang kung hindi na–video yung eksena, eh di paninindigan nilang dalawa yung kasinungalingan nila!

And with Claudine Barretto creating a scene, What’s new?

Di ba ganyan din naman ginawa niya sa bangko several months ago. Why she didn’t confront the man covering the incident then? Was it because it was Nelson Canlas who was covering the incident who happens to be a staff of GMA–7? Eh kung si Gretchen Fullido ang nakakuha ng eksena, anong gagawin ni Claudine, sasabunutan niya si Gretchen?

Here is the sequence of event “as I reconstructed it” based on what both parties was saying:

Ø  Santiago family arrive at NAIA with their baggage not loaded on the plane.

Ø  Claudine freaks out when she finds out that their baggage is off the plane. It’s a natural reaction.

Ø  Out of Claudine’s dismay, she heap the blame on the ground attendant.

Ø  The ground attendant in return knowing that Claudine is a celebrity becomes tongue–twisted and undergoes a humiliation from the bitchy Claudine Barretto.

Ø  Incidentally, Mon Tulfo was at the airport as well. Mon Tulfo’s program on “AM radio” is helping ordinary citizens under distress condition cope up with their misery. And here is a real life situation right before his eyes.

Ø  Mon Tulfo sees an ordinary citizen being humiliated in front of a big crowd and he has to do something. So he interferes.

Ø  Most likely the bitchy Claudine Barretto ignores the sign. She might have not known Mon Tulfo as well because Mon Tulfo belong to ABC–5 under the News and Current Affair while Claudine belongs to GMA–7 under their entertainment department whatsoever which are both entirely different entities.

Ø  Most likely when Mon Tulfo sees Claudine unabated with her bitchiness, tries to capture the incident which angers Claudine and her husband Raymart because they know deep within their nerves that what they are doing is offensively foul.

Ø  So, Raymart attack Tulfo.

Based on the video, it was crystal clear that it was Mon Tulfo who was seriously aggrieved.

Who is the guy wearing green shirt? Was he Raymart’s bodyguard or a bystander who has grudge with Tulfo that when he got the opportunity to smack the guy’s face, he release all his anger!

Claudine says that she was banged “at the counter” so is there a missing video other than this one because they are in an open space and it was obvious that it was Raymart who attack first. Granting that she was banged at the counter, with what her husband did, isn’t that an enough retaliation?

Claudine’s style of crying in front of a camera to obscure her guilt is already the classical style of Armida Siguion–Reyna and Rose Flaminiano whenever they are caught in a serious mess. To wash their hand, they speak out loud in the media that they are the one aggrieved but of course we are not stupid to believe with their classical stupidity!

Things would not have happened if Cebu Pacific has find ways to improve their services. They are in operation for a long time already. They are even a publicly listed companies with shareholders and yet they are stagnant with what they are. So, Cebu Pacific should be compensating Santiago family and Mon Tulfo for the inconvenience they have bought to them. If they are not going to lose something in a form of compensation, their services will not improve. Likewise, who are the people behind the operation of their airline, I’m sure you are earning a hefty figure so try to be more competent otherwise, somebody else might get your job.

The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) should be supporting Mon Tulfo. He is not a paparazzi who is trying to make a living by making celebrity annoyed and intimidated. This case is a spur of the moment incident not deliberately done.  He is just trying to extend his help to that poor ground attendant. On the other hand, the GMA–7 should no longer be renewing the contract of Claudine and Raymart. They are not good example to the public and will just tarnish the image of the station. For the benefit of Raymart and Claudine, they should stepped out of the spotlight if they don’t want their privacy to be trespassed again.

Just a flashback though, Sharon Cuneta’s DVDs was confiscated before by airport officials but did you see her react the way Claudine has reacted considering the fact that Sharon has more influence politically and socially. No, she didn’t. She follows the rules as it is. So, etong si Claudine eh may pagkabastos lang talaga!

Viewing the two sides of the coin,

Mon Tulfo is not the typical adorable guy whom you will praise. He has acid tongue. He is frank. He is candid. He is straight–forward. But what he is, he is.  You don’t have to make adjustment.

On the other hand, Claudine Barretto is an actress on and off camera. She can mask her words and emotions perfectly. Not a single trace! It’s almost indistinguishable whether she is telling the truth or not UNLESS caught on camera!

I saw most of the comments at yahoo and youtube and “people believe what they ought to believe.” Even if things are so obvious! People cannot really decipher which one is right and which one is wrong and is really pathetic!

On the part of the ground attendant,

She is doing a customer service job. That is one of the most difficult job on planet earth. Dealing with unruly people. Dealing with the unruliness of the company you are working with. I would like you to hear this conversation in a local call center. Take note that this is voice over the phone ONLY. It could be true or not but the thing is it can happen in real life! What greater humiliation will it be for people who are “face to face” with an irate customer where they are more vulnerable for physical attack!

Faded Glory

My daughter loves the “float” whichwe usually buy in a local fast food chain.

Most fast food chain outlet has that one and kids like that.
My three year old nephew also like that.

He can consume the large size of that drink in just one sitting.
But I don’t tolerate it much because its filled with sugar and that will make him hyperactive.

Well, he is already hyperactive even without drinking it!!

This “float” is actually a combination of “soda drink” and “ice cream.”

As I watch them sip that drink, something flashback to me.
Again!!!
Shout it in your blog!!!
My alter–ego is screaming out loud!

It came to my senses that when I was in College, we use to dine in a fast food restaurant also and that restaurant also serve a “float.” In fact they are the one who popularize it – The Root Beer Float. My brother even work there as a crew.

Where are these restaurants now?

Carl’s Jr.
Texas Chicken

They have gone to extinction.
This are American brands.
Why I can’t find a single trace of them nowadays?
Were they’ve been defeated by the local brand?

With the success of Mang Inasal locally, I’m just wondering if its rise is here to stay just like the other brands locally and internationally which stands the test of time or was it simply ephemeral?

Since this brands are engaged in business, it’s really difficult to decipher based on the  data being collage whether it is the exact truth or an exaggerate truth. Nevertheless, if it is the exact truth, then it is a paragon for other start up business but if it is the other way around, YOU coin the word for it…

TIN as ID

Since the National ID System was never approved because as many “says” it violates the Constitution then I was able to find an alternative to that one.

What is it?

The Tax Identification Number.

As Thomas Friedman puts it “No Taxes, No Representation.”

Then therefore that piece of Identification Card is our representation in the society.

And I should say that it is a very potent identity almost equal to our passport.

It totally gauges what your say is in the National level because the higher taxes you are paying the greater your say in the society. I’ve read that actor John Lloyd Cruz have paid a total of 62 million pesos worth of taxes. In whatever currency, that is huge! Imagine what his say in the society! How many roads, bridges and low cost housing can his money would be able to build? On the sidelight, Sinong manager niyan? Mukhang magaling makipag–negotiate ah? O sadyang talagang ganung lang kataas market value niya?

As Anthony Taberna says, “Hingi ng hingi, wala namang binibigay.” I agree. If you are giving more and asking less from the government then that will position yourself as a great benefactor making you hard to eliminate or to confront.

So, what is the solution then?

The Tax Identification Number (TIN) is being issued by the Bureau of Internal Avenue (BIR). At present, it is being issued as a piece of hard paper (almost disposable!) because you only need that number when applying for a job or a business (for sole proprietorship). At present, this is the least honored ID socially although it should be the most honored because that is the ultimate representation of the citizen of the country. Are you a Filipino only by name only or you are a Filipino because you have significant contribution to the society through the taxes you are paying?

The BIR should then issue an official ID for this one. The good thing about this is it will be hard to tamper. Imagine using someone else’s TIN then the credit will be given to the holder of that number. TIN doesn’t have expiry date also since it is your lifetime identification number.

The BIR should be issuing an Identification Card almost the same as what the Social Security System (SSS) was issuing. At present, the most common Identification Card being presented by most Filipinos is the SSS ID but that was just literally a piece of paper confirming one’s identity and doesn’t have any “accountability” attach to it. If it is the TIN ID then there is “accountability” attach to it which makes it credible source of ultimate identification. There will be “social accountability” as well as “financial accountability.” View it both on the negative and positive side, nanakaw yung TIN mo, anong mangyayari? Will the person who stole it be able to use it for personal gain? Again, it will be difficult because of “accountability.”

Simply imagine a criminal at the precinct being apprehended and when check in database about his social status based on the taxes he is paying and there is none or not even close to minimal then what can you conclude about his criminality? Simply imagine raiding a squatter area and when you check the identification wala naman palang contribution sa society! Simply imagine interviewing someone who is establishing a rally against the government demanding for something and when checked through their TIN would prove to be a hoax!

The BIR should be issuing it in a standard ID form with special marking for those who holds large businesses employing large number of employees and for those publicly listed companies listed for more than ten years since there are companies being “delisted” as well. It could also be color coded.

The good thing about this is that no further laws will be amended. Why? Dati nang nagi–issue ng ID ang BIR, ipo–formalize lang ngayon. Another thing about this also is even foreigners who would like to live or establish business in this country can do so almost hassle free. Things would be super fast as well. Oh diba Capitalista ang dating!

Charade with Charlie

I was soooooo surprise to see that the ex–Menudo member was this buff now!
Remember that this guy has once made a recording with Lea Salonga back when they were young, a reason for teenagers to hate Lea Salonga during those times because of jealousy.
Well, here he is now!
Still hot at 41!
